Catacomb display of CoCoMac data
Catacomb is a Java-based graphical simulation workbench. It offers special
components to create maps and to display CoCoMac connectivity data on them.
To do so you have to carry out the following steps:
-
Make sure that your computer has at least Java JRE 1.4 installed or download
it from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html
-
Download Catacomb2 from http://askja.bu.edu/catacomb/unstable/
(e.g. ccws-2.125.jar, local copy)
-
Download any of the map displays listed below
-
Start Catacomb2 and import a map display file
-
Click on the server accessor (blue square): in the menu on the right click the following
buttons
-
1) build map view
-
2) fetch data
-
3) show connectivityView
- After successful retrieval of the literature and connectivity data from the
CoCoMac database the results are written to a local cache file, which allows
much quicker retrieval when you execute the same query again
